Expecting Together | Chicago | Part-Time (8 to 12 hours/week) Ideal for undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent graduates interested in startups, marketing, community building, or healthcare innovation. Help us build the village. At Expecting Together, we believe the best parenting advice doesn’t just come from experts. It comes from the people going through it with you. We’re building clinician-led prenatal education that helps expecting parents prepare for birth while meeting the people they’ll lean on long after their baby arrives. We’re looking for an ambitious undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent graduate, who’s excited to roll up their sleeves and help us build something meaningful. This isn’t a desk job. You’ll be out in Chicago neighborhoods, meeting local businesses, discovering new opportunities, and making sure every expecting parent knows we’re here. What You’ll Do Around Chicago Hang flyers and postcards in coffee shops, boutiques, fitness studios, libraries, pediatric offices, apartment buildings, and community bulletin boards Build relationships with local businesses that serve expecting and new families Keep our marketing materials stocked and looking great Scout new neighborhoods and identify places where expecting parents naturally spend time Attend local events, markets, and community gatherings Online Find opportunities to mention Expecting Together in Reddit threads, Facebook groups, neighborhood forums, and local online communities where it’s genuinely helpful Join conversations about pregnancy, birth classes, and building a village with authenticity and good judgment Help us identify influencers, newsletters, and organizations we should partner with Keep an eye on what expecting parents are talking about and bring those insights back to our team Get Creative We don’t expect you to just execute ideas. We want you to bring your own. If you think of a creative partnership, guerrilla marketing campaign, neighborhood event, or social media opportunity, we want to hear it. Some of our best ideas come from asking one simple question: “How would an expecting parent discover us if they’d never heard of us before?” Who You Are Love meeting new people Know Chicago neighborhoods well (or want to!) Are outgoing, resourceful, and self-directed Have excellent written communication skills Spend time on Reddit, Facebook Groups, Instagram, or TikTok Aren’t afraid to walk into a business and introduce yourself Care deeply about building real-life community Want to learn what it’s actually like to build a startup Have a track record of taking initiative, whether through work, school, clubs, side projects, volunteering, or something you’ve built yourself Marketing experience is a bonus, but curiosity, hustle, and initiative matter much more.
