Our client, a leading firm in the commercial mechanical construction sector, is seeking a skilled Plumbing Estimator to join their team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to apply your extensive experience in plumbing or heating estimation to impactful projects.What You'll Do:- Perform detailed job takeoffs and pricing for plumbing and mechanical projects.- Obtain and negotiate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.- Collaborate closely with the VP of Estimating to develop and maintain estimating databases and spreadsheets.- Ensure a smooth transition of projects from estimation to project management.- Lead and finalize job estimates, including writing clear and professional scope letters.- Communicate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, clients, and coworkers.What We're Looking For:- Minimum 5 years of commercial experience in plumbing or heating estimation, or completion of an approved apprenticeship program with at least 3 years as a Journeyman.- Proven 4 years of prior estimating experience.- Ability to read and interpret blueprints with strong knowledge of plumbing and piping installations.- Strong math and organizational skills.- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with estimating software (Estimation and/or Quicken experience preferred).- Excellent communication skills for conducting scope reviews and vendor negotiations.- Valid Driver's License.- High School Diploma or GED; Journeyman Plumber or HVAC license (or equivalent experience) required.Benefits:- Competitive 401(k) plan.- Health benefits.- Education opportunities.If you are a detail-oriented professional ready to bring your expertise to a dynamic team and help drive successful project outcomes, we want to hear from you!Apply today to schedule a conversation about this exciting opportunity!
