Responsibilities/Duties Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Collects detailed and accurate patient history. Prepares and maintains exam rooms with necessary instruments, equipment and supplies. Follows up with patient on physician's current patient care notes or instructions. Provides general assistance, education and information to patient questions. Assists physicians in setup and performance of medical procedures under the direction of physician or nurse manager. Maintains DME supplies. Responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality. Prepares, cleans and stocks examination rooms. Assures surfaces are clear and puts away any articles that were left out and replenishes missing stock in drawers and cabinets. Unpacks new supply deliveries and stores away items as directed. Assists members of clinical support staff and physicians with all duties as necessary and appropriate. Identifies OSHA issues and communicates for correction. Follows all HIPAA regulations as instructed. Follows policies and procedures. Performs other duties/projects as assigned. Greet and register patients in a prompt and pleasant manner. Request updates from established patients. Perform Expediter duties (escort patients to exam rooms). Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations. Qualifications General knowledge of office procedures and computer systems. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to handle high stress, busy work environment. Knowledge of Word & Outlook Required. Orthopedic and/or casting experience preferred. Pleasant, professional, and articulate phone skills. Knowledge of medical terminology. Strong organizational skills. Medical Assistant Certification preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
