Job Details Specialty: Respiratory Care Practitioner Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 07/13/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 5x8hrs Hours: 40 h/wk Start Date: Jul 13, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Assignment Details Hospital-based respiratory care department serving pediatric patients Day shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week 26-week contract Previous experience in children-only hospital is preferred Responsibilities Administer therapeutic respiratory treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff and document patient responses in the electronic medical record Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring Serve as a resource to medical staff and provide age-appropriate care across all patient populations served by the department Participate as part of the rapid response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests Responsible for ensuring respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained Workers who have previously completed an assignment at this facility may extend only once, for a total of 26 weeks; a 6‑month separation period is required before beginning a new contract This facility maintains strict compliance deadlines; travelers must complete all onboarding requirements promptly to avoid cancellation Qualifications Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program Minimum 1 year of respiratory care experience required; 2 years in a critical care setting preferred RRT credential required (must be obtained within 12 months of hire) Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision BLS certification (AHA) required upon hire ACLS certification (AHA) required within 3 months of hire License required if applicable Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible Benefits American Traveler offers exceptional benefits, including premium medical, dental, vision and life insurance beginning day one of your assignment, generous 401(k) match, substantial housing stipends, and more.
