Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric critical care experience for a night shift position at a children's hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.

Details

• Respiratory Care department at an academic medical center with a dedicated children's hospital
• Pediatric patient population across all appropriate age levels
• Night shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (40 hours/week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
• RRT credential required (must be received within 12 months of hire)
• Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory care experience; 2+ years in a critical care setting preferred
• Previous experience in a children's-only hospital preferred
• BLS (AHA) required upon hire
• ACLS (AHA) required within 3 months of hire
• All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff and document patient responses in the electronic medical record
• Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring
• Serve as a resource to medical staff and participate in the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
• Ensure respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Workers who have previously completed a contract at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply again; extensions are permitted only once for a total of 26 weeks
• This facility has strict compliance deadlines and will not accommodate start date changes for non-compliant travelers
