Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Heme/Outpatient Infusion

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a community-based oncology practice affiliated with a nationally recognized cancer center. This small team consists of a physician, advanced practice provider (APP), licensed practical nurse (LPN), ambulatory technician, and three registered nurses (RNs). The infusion assignment includes a mixture of hematology, oncology, monoclonal treatments, and non-oncology referral infusions, catering to a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy and other infusion therapies to patients.
• Provide chairside chemotherapy teaching and education to patients and their families.
• Manage a typical daily patient assignment of up to 8 patients, with a maximum capacity of 24 infusions daily.
• Work collaboratively with the oncology care team to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using Epic EMR.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of recent infusion experience required; outpatient clinic experience preferred.
• Current ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification is required.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Experience with Epic EMR and Alaris infusion pumps is highly desired.
• Strong IV and vascular access skills, including port access.
• Excellent communication skills, able to effectively interact with patients, families, and the oncology care team.
• Current, unencumbered New York State RN licensure.

This position offers a standard workweek of 40 hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no weekends or holidays required. Join a dedicated team making a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by cancer.
