Work Environment

This position is primarily remote, enabling Mental Health Counselors to work from home while actively engaging with students and staff through telehealth platforms and online collaboration tools. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to gauge students’ psychological needs, developing personalized treatment plans that encourage progress and healing.
• Implement evidence-based interventions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, optimally tailored to individual and group sessions with students.
• Facilitate psychoeducational support groups, equipping students with coping skills and building a sense of community among peers facing similar challenges.
• Collaborate closely with school staff, parents, and multidisciplinary team members to create a cohesive support system that addresses student needs comprehensively.
• Provide crisis intervention services, responding to mental health emergencies with professionalism and empathy.
• Educate students and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and local community resources to foster self-advocacy and understanding.
• Maintain meticulous records and documentation that comply with legal and ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and providing clear treatment histories.
• Participate actively in supervision, case consultations, and professional development to remain current in best practices and clinical advancements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice focuses on serving a diverse population of students in the Spanaway area who face various mental health challenges. You will have the opportunity to work with young individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues, tailoring interventions to meet their unique needs. Your role will be pivotal in creating a safe, supportive environment that encourages open dialogue and fosters resilience in these students.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Washington.
• Deep understanding of mental health disorders, therapeutic modalities, and the ability to implement evidence-based practices.
• Demonstrated experience conducting comprehensive assessments and creating effective, individualized treatment plans.
• Proven experience delivering individual and group therapy to youths from varied backgrounds.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach toward working with students, families, and educational staff.

Preferred Experience

• At least three years of experience in a clinical setting, with notable involvement in school-based mental health services.
• Profound understanding of educational systems and their impact on mental health.

Compensation and Benefits
