Guided Minds Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LPCC, LCSW) to join our remote telehealth team in San Jose, California. You will play a crucial role in conducting mental health evaluations, developing personalized treatment plans, facilitating therapy sessions, and managing a diverse caseload of clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with clients and document comprehensive case notes from initial consultations through the completion of treatment.
• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health using evidence-based methods and tools.
• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans addressing the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, drawing upon current therapeutic modalities to guide discussions and interventions.
• Monitor and assess client progress throughout their treatment journey, adjusting plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, and other mental health specialists, to create integrated intervention strategies.
• Follow up with healthcare providers regarding clients who are hospitalized, ensuring coordinated care and continuity of services.
• Identify any behaviors that may hinder recovery and implement strategies to mitigate these challenges.
• Provide support and guidance to family members and primary caregivers on managing mental and behavioral health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse client population including children, adolescents, and adults facing a wide range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. Your familiarity with the effects of physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders, will be essential in providing comprehensive care. You will utilize a client-centered approach tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in California.
• A passing score on either the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor in varied contexts.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• In-depth understanding of medication management and implications of psychotropic drugs as prescribed by medical professionals.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients quickly.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in telehealth consulting and proficiency with digital communication platforms.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care approaches and behavioral health assessments.
• Background in conducting group therapy sessions, utilizing different therapeutic techniques and formats.
• Experience navigating and addressing challenges presented by complex family dynamics in counseling.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
