Supervisory Physical Security Specialist

Summary Security programs are essential to the accomplishment of the mission and goals of United States Attorneys' Offices (USAO). The Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA) provides security program support for USAOs by supplying policy and procedural assistance for the implementation and conduct of all aspects of security programs in accordance with applicable statutes, Executive Orders and Departmental Orders, to ensure regulatory requirements and the unique need of each office are met. Responsibilities Approves annual, multi-year and long-range work plans from lower-level leaders or contract managers, to enhance achievement of program goals and objectives. Exercises discretionary authority to approve the allocation and distribution of funds in the organization's budget. Provides subject matter expert (SME) guidance and direction to staff concerning the design and installation and operations. Continuously assesses the quality of the services provided and makes recommendations for improvement and develops and implements necessary changes to increase program efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Manages the periodic assessment and evaluation of security effectiveness in physical security practices. Requirements You must be a U.S. Citizen or National. Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation. You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable. If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period. If selected, you will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a one year supervisory or managerial probationary period unless this requirement has been met previously. Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position. Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the specialized experience requirement. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized Experience One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is defined as conducting physical security and risk assessments; coordinating the work of staff engaged in security and risk assessment activities; managing security budget allocations to ensure appropriate use of resources for protective measures; identifying security risks and advising on or applying appropriate countermeasures; and coordinating security-related activities with internal and external partners. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP) The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
