Job Overview

\n

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Assistant Designer to support a lingerie design team focused on everyday lingerie and fashion-forward pieces. This role is ideal for an emerging designer with a strong fashion eye, excellent Adobe Illustrator skills, and an interest in lingerie design and garment construction.

\n

\n

The Assistant Designer will help develop commercially viable, brand-right designs that align with seasonal concepts and business objectives. Working closely with the design team, technical design, production, merchandising, and vendors, this individual will contribute to CAD development, technical packs, sample coordination, and seasonal line presentations.

\n

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, receptive to feedback, and comfortable adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced creative environment.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Support the design team in developing commercially viable designs aligned with seasonal concepts and brand identity.
\n
• Create detailed flat sketches, technical CADs, and colorways using Adobe Illustrator.
\n
• Develop and maintain CAD artwork, including lace brushes, patterns, textures, and other design details.
\n
• Assist with technical packs, line sheets, and clear garment construction specifications.
\n
• Support sample room organization and track development samples to ensure timely delivery.
\n
• Prepare presentation boards, mood boards, concept tear sheets, and product samples for design meetings.
\n
• Collaborate with technical design on prototype development, fittings, fit feedback, and follow-up adjustments.
\n
• Communicate development updates to internal partners, including production, technical design, merchandising, and vendors.
\n
• Incorporate constructive feedback and revise designs to meet brand standards and business needs.
\n
• Conduct trend research, competitor analysis, and creative research to support seasonal development.
\n
• Maintain strong organization and attention to detail while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
\n
• Build an understanding of the brand's aesthetic, customer, and product category.
\n
• Contribute to process improvements and support the team as seasonal priorities evolve.

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
\n
• Entry-level candidate with some design experience in a comparable retail environment; recent graduates with relevant skills are encouraged to apply.
\n
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, particularly technical CADs, color application, patterns, textures, and lace artwork.
\n
• Working knowledge of garment construction, preferably lingerie and women's ready-to-wear.
\n
• Experience creating technical packs or technical product documentation is highly desirable.
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, and InDesign.
\n
• Experience with Centric PLM is a plus.
\n
• Strong fashion sensibility, product styling awareness, and attention to detail.
\n
• Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
\n
• Ability to understand and communicate garment construction instructions.
\n
• Positive, proactive, collaborative, and receptive to constructive feedback.
\n
• Flexible problem-solver who can adapt quickly to shifting priorities and deadlines.

Work Environment

• Hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office and additional in-office attendance as business needs require.
