Vice President, Structured Finance (Solar + BESS)
Houston, TX or New York City, NY
A leading renewable energy IPP is seeking a Vice President, Structured Finance to lead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of project financings, tax equity transactions, tax credit transfer transactions, and other capital solutions supporting a growing utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project finance, tax equity, tax credit transfer, and corporate financing transactions from origination through closing.
- Structure and negotiate debt facilities, tax monetization transactions, and related financing agreements.
- Manage relationships with lenders, tax equity investors, tax credit buyers, infrastructure investors, and financial advisors.
- Coordinate legal, technical, insurance, accounting, and tax due diligence processes.
- Partner closely with Development, Engineering, Commercial, Legal, and Executive Leadership teams.
- Lead financial modeling, investment committee materials, and transaction analysis.
- Oversee financing execution, covenant compliance, and ongoing capital structure management.
- Mentor and develop junior finance professionals while leading a small, high-performing team.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in project finance, structured finance, infrastructure investing, investment banking, or renewable energy finance.
- Minimum 5 years of direct U.S. renewable energy project finance experience.
- Proven experience closing tax equity, tax credit transfer, and project finance debt transactions.
- Strong understanding of utility-scale solar, wind, and/or battery energy storage projects.
- Advanced project finance and financial modeling skills.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex financing structures and manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
