Job Full Description

Express Employment is seeking a 2nd Shift Forklift Material Handler for a great company in Shelbyville. This is an Evaluation Hire position.

Key Responsibilities

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and retrieve goods and raw materials safely and efficiently
Receive, unload, and store incoming shipments, ensuring proper placement and organization of materials
Prepare and secure loads for transport, including packaging, labeling, and shrink-wrapping finished products
Maintain accurate inventory records, perform cycle counts, and document material movements to support inventory control
Assist in kitting, allocation, and material condition management, including monitoring expiration dates and material quality
Ensure production and storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety and regulatory standards
Perform preventive maintenance on forklifts and other equipment, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns

Required Skills and Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is typically required; some positions may prefer an associate degree or technical certification
Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment safely
Knowledge of inventory management systems (e.g., SAP) and basic recordkeeping
Understanding of workplace safety regulations, including OSHA standards and cGMP guidelines in pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment
Physical stamina and ability to lift, move, and handle heavy materials safely
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow instructions accurately

Must be able to pass a Drug Screen and Background Screening
