Corporate Compliance Coordinator

Posted Friday, August 28, 2026 at 4:00 AM PURPOSE: The Corporate Compliance department supports the Agency in maintaining compliance in all areas of operations. The department focuses on promoting a culture of compliance, preventing and detecting fraud, waste and abuse, and educating staff on their rights to report suspected non-compliance. The Corporate Compliance function ensures Agency adherence to applicable laws, policies and procedures, regulations, standards and the Code of Conduct. POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the direction of the Director of Corporate Compliance, the Corporate Compliance Coordinator serves as an investigator for approximately 50% of the role and provides support for other Corporate Compliance responsibilities, including, but not limited to, programmatic audits, corrective action monitoring and the daily operations of the Corporate Compliance department. The Coordinator independently manages assigned investigations from intake through closure, including planning the investigation, conducting interviews, reviewing and analyzing documentation and other evidence, preparing clear written findings, and coordinating follow-up actions as appropriate. The role is hybrid and requires some in-person work (i.e., investigations, audits and team meetings). KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Serves as the assigned investigator for compliance complaints, allegations and incidents. Manages assigned investigations from intake through closure, including reviewing the initial concern, defining the scope and developing an investigation plan. Conducts timely, objective and thorough interviews with staff, managers, clients/consumers, family members and other relevant parties, as appropriate. Collects, reviews and analyzes records, policies, correspondence, system information and other relevant evidence to establish the facts. Maintains organized, confidential and complete investigation files, including interview notes, evidence, case activity and supporting documentation. Evaluates the available information, identifies factual findings and prepares clear, well-supported investigation reports and closure summaries. Communicates investigation status and findings to Compliance leadership and coordinates referrals, corrective actions and other follow-up, as directed. Tracks investigation deadlines, outcomes and recurring issues to support timely case resolution, trend analysis and prevention efforts. OTHER CORPORATE COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts Corporate Compliance programmatic audits in accordance with Compliance audit plan. Ensures implementation of regulatory corrective actions, including collaborating with program staff to develop plans of corrective action (POCA’s) in response to audits and allegations. Identify documentation trends and support ongoing performance improvement efforts. Support agency staff in regulatory interpretation. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATIONAL / TRAINING REQUIRED: BA/BS required. MS/MA/MPA/LCSW/LMSW preferred. OMH and OPWDD approved Incident Special Investigations Training for Justice Center reportable incidents (preferred but not required). EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / LANGUAGE PREFERENCE: At least 1-3 years prior healthcare compliance experience working in adult/children services programs. Prior experience conducting workplace, healthcare compliance, incident or regulatory investigations, including interviewing witnesses, reviewing evidence and writing investigation reports, required. Experience with programmatic auditing preferred. Prior experience in interpretation of regulation and/or policy development and implementation preferred. Excellent organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of OPWDD/OMH/DOHMH/OCFS/ACS/OCFS regulations. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently and on teams in a fast-paced work environment. Proven analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to attend Agency meetings, held during business hours. Must be able to adjust priorities to respond to time-sensitive investigations and travel to Agency sites as needed for programmatic audits, interviews, evidence collection and other investigative activities. Experience using Lean Six Sigma tools and concepts for Quality Improvement . Ability to articulate the Agency’s philosophy, mission and goals to a varied audience. Ability to interview a variety of managers, employees, consumers and their families. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures for a wide audience. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints, including those of a sensitive and confidential nature, from any of the following, if applicable, under a variety of circumstances, including adversarial situations: consumers, managers, employees, regulatory agencies, arbitrators, union representatives, vendors, or applicants. Ability to effectively present information to consumers, leadership staff in verbal and written formats. Ability to recognize the need for confidentiality of information and to maintain such confidences. COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED: Knowledge of personal computers, standard software and database management. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to quickly adapt to Agency computer applications. VISUAL AND MANUAL DEXIERITY: The candidate should be able to read documents for analytical purposes such as computer information, software, computer graphic design programs, etc. Limited applications of manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL EFFORT: Noise level and hazards present are consistent with levels usually present in an office, education, rehabilitation, industrial, workshop or health related environment. To perform the essential functions of this job, the candidate is routinely required to sit (75% of the time) and stand (25% of the time). This is a hybrid position with some work in person at an agency office location and some work from home.
