Operations Lead • New Finish LLC • Bridgeport / Saginaw, Michigan Full-time | On-site New Finish is a growing home improvement and refinishing company serving the Great Lakes Bay Region. We specialize in cabinet refinishing and refacing, bathroom refinishing, countertops, epoxy flooring and related residential services. We are looking for an experienced Operations Lead who can take ownership of day-to-day operations, develop our field technicians, and help us scale with consistency and profitability. The Role: The Operations Lead will oversee the daily execution of jobs, coach technicians, manage scheduling and materials, monitor key financial reports, and keep our systems running smoothly. This is a hands‑on leadership position that sits between the field and ownership. You will spend time in the office, with the project manager and crews to ensure work is done right the first time, the team is supported and growing, and the business stays profitable. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily business operations for a home improvement / refinishing company, ensuring jobs are completed on time, on budget, and to quality standards. Coach, mentor, and develop field technicians through regular feedback, ride‑alongs, and performance conversations. Manage the company CRM — work with CSR's to keep job information accurate, track leads and customers, and ensure the team follows processes. Handle material ordering and inventory coordination so crews have what they need without excess waste or delays. Own the scheduling process — balance technician capacity, job timelines, and customer expectations. Read and interpret accounting reports (including Profit & Loss statements) to understand job costs, margins, and overall company performance, then use that insight to help run a more profitable operation. Serve as a clear, consistent communicator between ownership, project managers, technicians, and customers. Support quality control, safety practices, and continuous improvement across field operations. Help identify process gaps and implement practical solutions that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and protect margins. Qualifications: Proven experience overseeing business operations in a home improvement, remodeling, refinishing, painting, or similar service business. Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor technicians or field staff (not just manage them). Working knowledge of CRM systems and comfort using them daily. Experience with material ordering, inventory coordination, and job scheduling. Ability to read and understand basic accounting reports, especially Profit & Loss statements, and apply that information to daily decisions that keep the company profitable. Strong communication skills — clear, direct, and professional with both field teams and customers. Ability to balance office systems work with hands‑on field presence. Reliable, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of results. Preferred Background: Experience in cabinet refinishing, bathroom refinishing, residential painting, or multi-trade home services. Prior role as operations lead, field supervisor, production manager, project manager or similar. Familiarity with performance expectations, quality checklists, standard operating procedures and technician development. Comfort reviewing job costing, labor vs. material ratios, or simple P&L reports. What We Offer: Competitive pay based on experience.
