- Working knowledge of Learning Standards and NY state assessments
- Experience teaching at the secondary levels (preferred)
- Strong understanding of the Science of Reading, literacy instruction, and literacy intervention tools and strategies
- Strong understanding of special education
- Strong understanding of social-emotional learning, classroom and behavior management
- The ability and commitment to use technology as an instructional tool
- Uncompromising commitment to continuous improvement
- Broad experience with a variety of instructional techniques
- Flexibility, enthusiasm, creativity, and willingness to develop programs and collaborate with and support other staff
- Loyalty and evidence of being a team player
- Commitment to equity and inclusion of all members of the school community
