Housekeeping - Overnight Houseman

Job Description Create the experience before the guest has even arrived. As a Overnight Houseperson, the organizational support you provide to the Housekeeping team will ensure our guest rooms are well equipped and that our guests feel welcome from the minute they step into their room. You will assist with the cleanliness and overall presentation of the public areas and assist Housekeepers in the cleaning and stocking of all guest rooms and maintenance of guest floor storage areas. Deliver and collect items from guest rooms as requested. Responsibilities Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers and supervisors Manage the movement of products/equipment/materials in and/or out of main housekeeping supply rooms Stock carts and closets with linens, general supplies and guest supplies essential to the cleaning and servicing of the guest rooms Collect, remove and dispose of trash and dirty linens from checked‑out rooms as well as trash from the public area of the section you are in charge of Maintain cleanliness of outside windows, hallways, stairs, balconies and railings, trash rooms, elevator landings, ice machine rooms, storage areas and closets Deliver and retrieve items to and from the guest rooms Supply arrival rooms with bathrobes Assist the Supervisor in completing special requests or miscellaneous projects Keep all assigned public areas clean and orderly Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision Sign in and out master keys, radios/mobile electronics daily Be familiar with the hotel’s technology and communication platforms and utilize them to ensure hotel operation and guest satisfaction Return and properly tag all lost and found articles in the Housekeeping Office Follow all departmental policies, procedures and service standards Report necessary maintenance items Adhere to local and externally relevant health and safety laws and policies Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Follow all safety and sanitation policies Other duties as assigned Benefits Discounted hotel rooms and food & beverage rates to employees at sister properties worldwide Learning programs through our Academies to promote growth and development so you can perform at your full potential Opportunity to develop your talent and grow within your property and across the world Ability to make a difference through Corporate Social Responsibility activities, such as Planet21 and WATCH Hourly rate: $33.75 (break‑in rate applicable for new hires as per CBA) Schedule based on seniority and business needs Qualifications Must be willing to work overnight Ability to follow instruction, work with others and work independently Ability to communicate fluently with guests Ability to work cohesively with colleagues as part of a team with minimal supervision Previous customer service experience an asset Previous cleaning or janitorial experience an asset Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities Integrity and works well when supervisors are not present Ability to manage own time efficiently Ability to safely handle heavy equipment and machinery Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies Able to use basic cleaning equipment Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Highly responsible and reliable Spoken and written English Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Statement Fairmont Century Plaza is an Equal Opportunity Employer EEO M/F/V/D Visa Requirements Must provide proof of current eligibility to be employed in the United States of America. #J-18808-Ljbffr
