Senior Software Engineering Manager, Front Office Technology

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus at least 5 years of applied experience.
• Experience supporting trade execution platforms and strong business knowledge of investment banking products, including fixed income, mortgages, and derivatives.
• Demonstrated success leading software engineering teams to deliver advanced technology solutions.
• Practical experience across system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java or Python.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
• Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable applications in cloud environments.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience using modern monitoring and logging tools, such as DataDog, Dynatrace, or Splunk.
• Experience leading adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools across multiple teams, including establishing governance and ways of working, human review and quality gates, outcome measurement, and secure handling of sensitive inputs and outputs.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, resilience and security implications, and control expectations; ability to coach managers and technical leads and influence leaders on safe scaling practices.

• Partner with Front Office desks to understand their work requirements and develop proposals and solutions that improve operational efficiency.
• Manage functional teams across multiple programs within TCIO Trade Execution Technology.
• Guide software engineers in their daily work, including solution design, development, and technical troubleshooting, encouraging creative approaches beyond conventional methods.
• Anticipate dependencies across teams and lead evaluation sessions with internal groups and external vendors to shape effective designs that fit existing systems and information architecture.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and team delivery in line with compliance standards, service-level agreements, and business needs.
• Establish and scale operating practices for approved AI-assisted engineering and SDLC/TLM automation across teams to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational results.
• Define measurable expectations, such as throughput, defect reduction, and reliability, and ensure consistent validation, security, resilience, and reuse of proven approaches.
• Use software development lifecycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve efficiency and support capacity initiatives across teams, prioritizing reuse of our existing technology assets.
