Essential duties and responsibilities include creating a positive library experience for customers, assisting with reference and information services, developing and implementing policies and procedures, facilitating team activities, designing and implementing public classes and outreach activities, updating web calendar and displays, troubleshooting print management systems, processing interlibrary loans and materials, handling supply orders, training new employees, staying informed of professional developments, performing cash handling, processing new and donated materials, and preparing statistical reports.

Required Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED. Any work-related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above minimum qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the specified education and experience requirements. Preferred qualifications include bilingual skills, some college hours, and library experience. Conditions of employment include passing a drug screen and background check, having a Class C Texas Driver's License, and being able to work various hours including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Physical Demands/Supplemental

Physical demands involve light physical effort in sedentary to light work, including some lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects and materials of light to medium weight. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station and require visual/sound perception and oral communications ability. Work environment is performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
