Registered Nurse (RN) Operating RoomJob Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room / Circulate, Operating Room, Pre-Op Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours (6:30 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday) Experience: Minimum of 6 years in Pre-op, OR, and PACU License: Current RN licensure Certifications: ACLS certification, CNOR preferred Must-Have: Experience in all three areas: Pre-op, OR/Circulator, and PACU. Ability to function as a primary caregiver in all three areas. Willingness to participate in rotational call on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.Description: The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the surgical services scope of practice. The individual will conduct assessments and document care provided to patients. Emotional support will be offered to patients and their families. Coordination of patient transfers and recovery will be essential duties. The RN will circulate cases and assist with processing instruments and equipment. Patient preparation for surgery is included in the job responsibilities. Collaboration with other staff members and providing patient education is expected. Knowledge of and interest in technical procedures and care in surgical services is important. Adherence to infection control principles and department policies is required. Following national standards in surgical services is essential. The individual must be able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations. Effective communication with a wide variety of people is necessary. The position involves long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting.
