CT Tech

This is a 13-week contract position.

Day shift; 2x4.0.

The CT Tech is responsible for preparing patients for diagnostic procedures, explaining scans, positioning patients to capture appropriate images, and operating equipment to produce cross-section images of bones, organs, and tissue. This role has an on-call requirement (5% of BR).

Responsibilities:

• Completes all required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Understands and completes necessary requisitions for ordered exams promptly.
• Schedules all exams in a timely manner.
• Performs diagnostic Radiographic/Fluoroscopic C-arm exams on patients in the department and with portable equipment.
• Demonstrates the ability to inject IV contrast media as needed.
• Performs a variety of examinations, reconstructions, and various printing protocols as instructed by the Radiologist.
• Identifies mechanical and electronic equipment failures to accurately diagnose problems with radiographic machines and processors.
• Explains procedures to patients and answers any related questions.
• Properly moves and transports patients to and from departments as required.
• Orders necessary supplies and maintains par levels.
• Treats all patients, guests, coworkers, and physicians with courtesy and friendliness regardless of their background.
• Attends required in-services and orientations.
• Works closely with floor staff and builds positive relationships to facilitate excellent patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• CT certification is highly desired.
• BLS certification is required.
• 3 years of experience in the Medical Imaging field (not including school) is required.
• Experience operating facility-specific equipment (Philips) is highly desired.
