Radiology - CT Tech

Day shift, 2x4.0, with on-call requirements (5% of the ratio). Job Description The CT Tech is responsible for preparing patients for diagnostic procedures, explaining scans, positioning patients to capture appropriate images, and operating equipment to produce cross-section images of bones, organs, and tissue. Responsibilities Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner. Understand and complete necessary requisitions for ordered exams promptly. Schedule all exams in a timely manner. Perform diagnostic Radiographic/Fluoroscopic C-arm exams on patients in the department and with portable equipment. Demonstrate the ability to inject IV contrast media as needed. Perform a variety of examinations, reconstructions, and various printing protocols by the Radiologist. Identify mechanical and electronic equipment failures accurately. Explain procedures to patients and answer related questions. Properly move and transport patients as required. Order necessary supplies and maintain par levels. Treat all patients, guests, coworkers, and physicians with courtesy and friendliness. Attend required in-services and orientations. Build positive relationships with floor staff to facilitate excellent patient care. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. CT Certification is highly desired. BLS certification is required. 3 years of experience in the Medical Imaging field (not including school) is required. Experience operating facility-specific equipment (Philips) is highly desired.
