We have a mission that matters!Description of WorkThe HVAC Mechanic I is responsible for providing journey level work in areas of heating/air-conditioning, refrigeration, and plumbing. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Key Duties Included:Performing the full range of journey work duties associated with the construction, maintenance, and repair of air-conditioning systems and associated air handling, chilled water distribution, and control mechanisms.Maintaining refrigeration units and their control systems.Performing work assignments that are generally in the form of work orders indicating the nature of the problem.Identifying the cause of the problem, determine what materials and tools are needed, and the method of repair that is required.Carrying out repair procedures independently on most jobs.The larger, costlier, exceptional, or more complex jobs may be reviewed by a technical supervisor to determine extent of malfunction, to assure proper work methods are being followed and that work is of acceptable quality.Training new mechanics or supervise the work of helpers.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management PreferencesSalary Range: $ 39,244 - $ 68,679Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required.
