Embark on a rewarding opportunity as an Elementary Special Education Teacher in a Montessori-inspired school environment. This contract position spans the 2026–2027 academic year, serving grades K-6 in a unique, collaborative setting located near Big Lake, MN. You'll work on-site between 7am and 3pm, Monday through Friday, for a total of 37.5 hours each week.
In this role, you will support students’ growth and learning through small group instruction in a shared classroom space. This position encourages innovative teaching strategies and values a passion for fostering inclusivity and student success. School administrators are committed to providing a nurturing environment for both students and educators.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (K-6)
- Classroom experience within K-6th grade, preferably in a Montessori or progressive educational setting
- Proficient in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Demonstrated ability to lead small group instruction and manage diverse learning needs
- Collaborative, communicative mindset for working with other educators, support staff, and families
- Comfortable working full-time on-site throughout the academic year
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver targeted support to students with a range of learning differences
- Provide instruction in small group settings, adapting materials and methods to individual needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and support staff in a shared space
- Write, review, and monitor IEPs to ensure compliance and measurable student progress
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about students’ progress and goals
