Occupational Health Nurse

$31.64 - $50.13 per hour

Job Summary Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Neurology/Stroke CareLocation: 100 Hospital Dr, Hendersonville, NC 28792 Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday, Thursday & Friday Travel: To Polk and other clinics as needed to support team members and leaders Responsibilities Facilitate triage and transport of injured workers to appropriate facilities. Manage employee medical records using the EMR system, ensuring accurate data entry and report checks. Document orders, procedures, and assessments legibly and accurately from patient check‑in to check‑out. Process employees from new hire to annual compliance, including screenings and drug tests in accordance with federal procedures. Conduct respirator fit testing in accordance with OSHA standards and AdventHealth policies. Relay discharge and follow‑up instructions to employees using approved tools. Participate in AdventHealth compliance initiatives and training. Support Employee Health services such as return‑to‑work and COVID‑19 employee line. Collect and process blood work according to AdventHealth protocols. Maintain knowledge of required immunizations for healthcare workers and adhere to AdventHealth policies. Perform clinical duties under standing orders from the Medical Director. Qualifications Copying, writing, and speaking English competently to carry out job requirements. Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practices. Familiarity with OSHA, CDC, and other regulatory bodies. Proficient organizational skills and ability to multitask. Proficient customer service skills. Proficient in critical thinking. Ability to work independently under standing orders. Phlebotomy skills and proficiency with immunization techniques. Familiarity with standard precautions and infection control protocols. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word. Ability to review programs and identify appropriate employee health management initiatives. Ability to monitor effectiveness measures for employee health programs to improve employee health and well‑being. Ability to review employee work and progress and prepare written reports. Ability to analyze and assess employee health data, techniques, methodology, equipment operations, and quality control to ensure accurate information representation. Knowledge of AOHP guidelines and standard of care. Ability to administer IM, sub‑Q, and intradermal injections. Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Valid AHA Advanced Life Support (ACLS, PALS, NRP) certification per specialty/unit requirements (preferred). Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals. Highly analytical and detail‑oriented with strong organizational, communication, record‑keeping, and multi‑tasking skills. Demonstrated critical‑thinking skill with a strong customer and patient focus. Proficiency in using various computer programs. Knowledge of occupational health software, especially Systoc (preferred). Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of personal information and model the highest level of personal integrity. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to understand and effectively help facilitate strategies and goals and organizational objectives. Education & Experience Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred). Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (preferred). Licenses & Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) license (required). Basic Life Support – CPR certificate (BLS) (required).
