Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Clutch Industries, an up-and-coming developer-contractor based in Salem, Oregon, is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our growing team. We're involved in a mix of ground-up and renovation work across multifamily, retail, and mixed-use commercial projects, and we need someone who can hit the ground running.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you'll own project delivery from preconstruction through closeout, serving as the primary point of contact between ownership, subcontractors, and our field team. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on solving problems in real time and keeping projects moving on schedule and on budget.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle: preconstruction planning, subcontractor buyout, scheduling, budgeting, and closeout
• Prepare and review bid packages, subcontracts, and change orders
• Track project budgets, cost forecasts, and pay applications
• Develop and maintain project schedules, identifying and resolving delays proactively
• Review submittals, RFIs, and drawings for accuracy and constructability
• Coordinate with ownership on project status, key decisions, and risk items
• Conduct regular site visits and coordinate closely with superintendents and field crews
• Ensure compliance with contract documents, permits, and applicable codes (including prevailing wage requirements where applicable)
• Manage project documentation and maintain organized project records
• Support quality control and safety compliance across active job sites

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in commercial construction
• Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, scheduling, and cost control
• Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project)
• Excellent communication skills — comfortable presenting to ownership and building relationships with subcontractors and field personnel
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• A flexible, adaptable mindset — able to pivot quickly as project needs and site conditions evolve
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
