Job Description Summary The Industrial Plumbing Steamfitter will be responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance and improvement of system‑controlled robotics, steam systems, machine tools and equipment. Essential Responsibilities Identify and evaluate the condition of hydraulic, steam and HVAC equipment and determine strategy to repair and rebuild. Own preventative maintenance, inspections and extensive repairs; diagnose problems, plan and complete work required, identify and order parts. Install and repair pipes, fixtures, and valves for water, gas, steam, and air systems. Install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation. Assemble fittings and valves for installation. Modify length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed. Use saws and pipe cutters as necessary. Install heating and air‑conditioning systems, including water heaters. Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing systems. Test plumbing systems for leaks and other problems. Analyze problem and identify appropriate tools and materials for repair. Use a CMMS documenting the problem and summary of actions taken. Requirements AAS degree in Mechanical or Plant Utilities Technology. AOS degree in HVAC or Construction & Maintenance. Military Training Course in related field. 3 years work experience in a Manufacturing Facility (with references). 3 years proven experience in Commercial HVAC service and installation. Completion of 2 years of a Plumber/Steamfitter Apprentice Program (considered 3rd year apprentice). Journeyman Steamfitter. Licensed NYS Plumber. Eligibility Requirements Willingness to work off‑shifts and weekends. Willingness to work 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM). Desired Characteristics Minimum 3 years work experience in a Manufacturing Facility in a technical maintenance role. Strong mechanical and hydraulic fundamentals and safety knowledge (schematics, precision measurement tools, LOTO). Pay and Benefits Base pay range: $35.68/hr – $43.89/hr (may be influenced by experience, education, and skill set). Eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases, COLA increases, and a $1.00 per hour Night Shift Bonus. Geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
