This on-site role centers around providing focused support to one middle school student for 30 minutes, twice a week. Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Hold an active, current COMS (Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist) license
• Demonstrated expertise working with students who are blind or visually impaired
• Experience in developing and implementing individualized orientation and mobility instruction
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with educational staff, families, and the student
• Ability to adapt strategies to meet the unique needs and learning styles of middle school-aged students

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted orientation and mobility instruction to one student at the middle school level
• Create and adjust lesson plans to support the student’s specific goals and progress
• Conduct regular assessments and contribute to the student’s IEP as needed
• Provide feedback and strategies to educational team members and the family
• Adhere to all school-site protocols, maintaining a supportive and motivating learning environment
