Lead Software Engineer - Java/Microservices/AWS

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with 5+ years of applied experience
• Hands-on coding experience in one or more programming languages, including Java
• Experience designing and implementing applications with Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database query languages
• General knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, or troubleshooting, including setting expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes in a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile

• Develop code that follows designs, meets non-functional requirements, and complies with coding standards and conventions
• Write detailed unit test cases and perform unit and integration testing; support QA and user acceptance testing, and respond to ad hoc user queries
• Use test-driven development, automated testing, and continuous integration practices
• Participate in peer reviews by assessing code quality, checking adherence to best practices, identifying defects, and providing constructive feedback
• Encourage team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish validation standards and promote reuse of effective approaches
• Apply Software Development Life Cycle toolchain capabilities, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation tools, to increase the value of automation
• Mentor and support junior developers through technical guidance, knowledge-sharing sessions, work reviews, and skills development
• Analyze programs, troubleshoot production issues, identify performance-tuning opportunities, and implement improvements
