Staff Accountant

A great UHY client is seeking a Staff Accountant . The ideal candidate will have general accounting experience, ERP system knowledge, and strong attention to detail. The Staff Accountant role is a hybrid position with 3 days in office and 2 days remote. This is a direct hire position. Staff Accountant Responsibilities Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports through the company's accounting and expense management systems. Review and reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Prepare and post customer invoices in collaboration with internal departments. Apply customer and vendor payments and maintain accurate accounts receivable and accounts payable records. Record and reconcile daily banking transactions. Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, and adjusting entries. Prepare and file sales and use tax returns. Assist with month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and financial analysis. Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support day-to-day accounting operations. Staff Accountant Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2-4 years of accounting experience. Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or similar environment is preferred. Strong understanding of general accounting principles and transactional accounting processes. Experience with ERP systems; SAP Business One or similar software is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close. Ability to work accurately in a detail-oriented, process-driven environment. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Patient, collaborative, and comfortable working in a consensus-driven team environment.
