Sr. Staff Accountant

A great UHY client is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant . The ideal candidate will have general ledger and month-end close experience, strong financial analysis skills, and a public accounting background. The Senior Staff Accountant role is a onsite position. This is a direct hire position. Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger accurately and timely. Support the month-end and year-end close processes in a deadline-driven environment. Prepare monthly account reconciliations and investigate outstanding items. Analyze general ledger activity and perform variance analysis. Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities. Research and explain financial variances and accounting issues. Prepare financial reports and analyze accounting data to support business decisions. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies and procedures. Perform accounting research and assist with technical accounting matters as needed. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies. Support internal and external audits by providing schedules and supporting documentation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience. Public accounting experience is strongly preferred, ideally with a Big Four, large regional, or middle-market accounting firm. CPA certification, Master's degree, or 3+ years of public accounting experience is preferred. Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles. Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting. Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to research technical accounting matters and prepare supporting documentation. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs. Experience with Workday Financial or similar ERP systems is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with astrong commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.
