Finance Director

Director of FinanceOur client is an established transportation, warehousing, and logistics organization headquartered in Buffalo, NY. Our client is hiring a Director of Finance to lead the accounting and finance function across multiple operating companies, real estate entities, and business divisions. This is a hands-on leadership role working directly with ownership while overseeing a small accounting team.Key ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day accounting and financial reporting across multiple entities, locations, and profit centers.Oversee month-end/year-end close, financial statements, P&Ls, balance sheets, and accounting controls.Manage core accounting functions including AP, AR, billing, and billing accuracy.Lead and develop the accounting team and improve processes, reporting, controls, and efficiency.Partner with ownership and operational leaders to understand business performance and support decision-making.Manage relationships with outside accounting, tax, banking, HR, and other financial partners.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.Strong technical accounting background with experience in financial reporting, month-end close, and general accounting.Experience managing financials across multiple entities, locations, business units, or profit centers.Hands-on leadership style with strong analytical and communication skills.Transportation, logistics, warehousing, distribution, or similar service-industry experience preferred.Previous people-management experience preferred.Salary: $110,000–$125,000Status: Full-time, direct hire. Onsite in Buffalo, NY.
