Job Description
Join Our Dynamic Nursing Team - 12-Hour Night Shifts!

Job Description:


- Unit Type: Multi Care Unit with combined acuity levels
- Patient Ratios:
- ICU: 1:2
- PCU: 1:4
- MST: 1:5-6
- Without NA: 1:3
- Bed Capacity: 10 beds
- Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- Common Diagnoses:
- Medical ICU: Sepsis, suicide attempts, drug/alcohol withdrawal, COPD, respiratory arrest, pneumonia, COVID, DKA, post-op complications
- PCU: Non-titratable infusions for heart rate or blood pressure management
- Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
- Acceptable: 1 year ICU and 1 year PCU/Med Surg in larger facilities
- Strong clinical skills necessary
- Skills:
- Must be able to titrate drips
- Common drips include: sedation, vasopressors, insulin
- Team Structure:
- Charge RN oversees 50 inpatient beds including MST, PEDS, & MCU unit
- NAs typically manage 10-15 patients
- In case of no NA, RNs will provide primary care with 3 patients
- Support Staff:
- Respiratory Therapy for vents, CPAP, BiPAP
- Remote Monitor Techs oversee PCU & MST patients
- Charge RN monitors ICU patients via cardiac telemetry
- Shifts & Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts: 0700/1900 or 1930/0730
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Fair holiday rotation
- Floating: May float to EC MST, Pediatric unit, or West Campus for ICU & PCU care
- Dress Code:
- Any scrub color except camouflage
- Orientation:
- Attend hospital and unit-specific orientation
- Contract Duration:
- 91 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours:
- 36 hours per week
