Household Manager & Family Assistant

Job Title: Household Manager & Family Assistant Location: Rye, NY (10580) Employment Type: Full-Time; 35 hours/week guaranteed Schedule: M, W, F; 7am-7pm w/ flexibility to shift hours later Compensation: $30-$35/hr, based on experience Start Date: ASAP Requirements Authorized to work in the United States Maintain a smoke-free environment Reliable transportation Love of children and dogs About Our Family We are a busy, high-energy household with three school-age children and a large, lovable dog. Both parents work full-time in demanding professional roles, with one parent traveling frequently. Our home is active, organized, and always moving, and we take pride in creating a well-run environment where everyone can thrive. We have a strong foundation of household support in place and we are looking for someone who can become a trusted part of our team and help elevate the way our household operates. We are direct, driven, and professional, while also valuing warmth, flexibility, and a team-oriented approach. The right person will be a true partner in managing the many moving parts of our home and family life; someone who takes ownership, anticipates needs, and confidently steps in to keep things running smoothly. Whether managing calendars, communications, bills, or ongoing projects, you create order and efficiency. Strong Household Management Skills: You are comfortable overseeing the moving parts of a busy household, including coordinating vendors, managing home projects, and keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly. Administrative & Executive Assistant Instincts: You are comfortable working behind a desk handling emails, follow-ups, scheduling, payments, and other administrative responsibilities. You bring a polished, professional approach to managing both logistics and relationships. High-Energy & Adaptable: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can shift seamlessly between planning, problem-solving, and hands-on support. You bring positive energy and the ability to manage changing priorities with ease. Key Responsibilities Family Support Manage afternoon school and activity pickups across two schools, coordinating multiple children simultaneously Provide back‑up childcare and child supervision as needed Assist with homework during the school year Prep backpacks, clothing, and snacks for the kids Handle kid‑related errands and follow through on school communications (forms, field day items, medical paperwork, etc.) Stay on top of school and activity emails and take action without prompting Administrative & Personal Assistant Support Manage household calendar and family schedules Handle bill payment and basic receipt/budget tracking Manage personal GMail account: coordinate camps, doctor appointments, event registrations, and family scheduling Manage travel logistics including hotel and restaurant reservations Plan and execute family events, (e.g., kids' birthday parties including, invitations, coordination, logistics) Household Organization & Maintenance Maintain household organization systems to keep the home running smoothly Complete daily resets and prepare the home for weekly cleaners Light tidying including loading/unloading of dishes, clearing surfaces, and vacuuming high‑traffic areas Coordinate holiday and guest prep Inventory & Errands Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies Manage running household supply lists Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon/Costco/Target) Returns, dry cleaning, prescriptions, and gift shopping Meal Planning & Prep Cook healthy meals for family 2x/week Prep school lunches 1-2x/week Compile grocery shopping list Kitchen clean‑up and maintenance Deep Cleaning & Special Projects Occasional deep clean of fridge and coordinate cleaners doing deep clean of other areas annually Organizational projects (items to donate/sell, toy organization, medicine cabinets, kitchen organization) Laundry & Linen Care Assist with washing, folding, and organizing of family laundry Make a schedule for and handle weekly linen rotation Maintain tidy and well stocked laundry areas Vendor & Property Oversight Source vendors, obtain quotes, and manage household projects (current example: outdoor furniture refresh) Oversee cleaners/contractors/landscapers Vehicle Management Schedule maintenance Fueling, cleaning, and organizing of vehicles Track registration and insurance Pet Care Vet and grooming scheduling Maintain pet supplies How to Apply Please submit a short intro letter, an updated resume, and 3 professional references with contact information.
