Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups, employing standardized assessments and keen observational skills.
  • Create customized treatment plans that focus on both immediate goals and the longer-term needs regarding communication, cognition, or swallowing.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care approaches.
  • Educate patients and family members to facilitate progress beyond clinical encounters.
  • Occasionally conduct inpatient assessments and therapy interventions to guarantee seamless care throughout each patient's journey.
  • Ensure precise and prompt documentation that meets state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Stay on the cutting edge of the field through ongoing education and teamwork.
Education
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications
  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based practices for all ages, encompassing both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Capacity to tailor therapy approaches to meet diverse cultural and linguistic needs.
  • Strong clinical judgment alongside adept problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical records and upholding documentation standards.
