Registered Respiratory Therapist

A Registered Respiratory Therapist is needed to work 36 hours per week on night shifts, providing essential respiratory care. The schedule includes Sunday to Tuesday nights, with an additional rotating night every other week from Sunday to Wednesday. Hours are from 6 PM to 6:30 AM, which may include call, weekends, and holiday coverage.

Education and Experience

• Certification or registry from an accredited college or technical school.
• Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician or Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
• Minimum of two years of experience required.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

• Current, active license as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Colorado.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform and collect diagnostic information, including but not limited to:
  • Pulmonary function testing
  • Pad Net
  • Sleep studies
  • Noninvasive and invasive diagnostic procedures
  • Blood gas and laboratory analysis
• Accurately assess each patient through physical examinations and diagnostic data interpretation.
• Deliver respiratory therapeutics, including:
  • Medical gas therapy
  • Humidity therapy
  • Aerosol therapy
  • Artificial airway management
  • Airway clearance
  • Invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation
• Monitor and assess the reaction and outcomes of therapeutic interventions promptly.
• Participate in discharge planning and case management efforts.
• Engage in public education initiatives that promote cardiopulmonary wellness.
• Attend all mandatory safety in-services, departmental meetings, and additional training selected by management.

Shift Information

Nights, 36 hours per week, rotating schedule that includes Sunday to Tuesday night with an additional night every other week from Sunday to Thursday. Hours are from 6 PM to 6:30 AM. Holiday coverage is required.

Minimum Years of Experience

Two years of experience required.
