Automotive Restoration Technician – Bodywork, Metal & Paint

Kratos Automotive LLC specializes in classic and vintage vehicle restoration. We handle everything from rust repair and metal fabrication to bodywork, paint preparation, and final finishing on projects ranging from partial restorations to full rebuilds. We focus on quality craftsmanship rather than high-volume insurance work.

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Automotive Restoration Technician with strong skills in bodywork, metal repair/fabrication, and painting. Ideal candidates take pride in proper panel fitment, clean metalwork, and high-quality finishes.

Key Responsibilities

•  Perform rust repair, structural and non-structural metal replacement, and panel fabrication

•  Fit and align body panels (doors, hood, trunk, fenders, etc.) with proper gaps

•  MIG/TIG welding and metal finishing

•  Body filler application, blocking, sanding, and full paint prep

•  Priming, base/clear (or single-stage) spraying, wet sanding, cutting, and polishing to a high standard

•  Work on classic cars, trucks, and related restoration projects

•  Maintain a clean, organized work area and collaborate with the team

Qualifications

•  Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in auto body repair, metalwork, and painting (restoration experience strongly preferred)

•  Proven welding and fabrication skills (MIG and/or TIG)

•  Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship

•  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

•  Own basic hand tools preferred

•  Valid driver’s license

•  Passion for classic vehicles is a plus

Compensation & Details

•  Competitive pay based on experience and skill level (skilled restoration techs in the area typically range $20–$45+/hr depending on experience and independence)
