Physician - Psychiatry - Consult Liaison Psychiatry - Royal Oak, MI

Position Overview Corewell Health’s Department of Behavioral Health is growing to add a BC/BE Adult Consult‑Liaison Psychiatrist to the William Beaumont University Hospital. The CL Psychiatrist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to provide psychiatric consultation to medical/surgical units and the emergency department for patients with primary psychiatric conditions or psychiatric comorbidities. The CL Psychiatrist will evaluate, diagnose, and give recommendations for patients on the respective services, and facilitate referrals for long‑term treatment when needed for the diverse population served. This role includes resident and medical student education. Responsibilities Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to provide psychiatric consultation to medical/surgical units and the emergency department; evaluate, diagnose, and advise on psychiatric conditions; recommend treatment plans; facilitate referrals for long‑term outpatient or inpatient services; provide education to residents and medical students; work as a core member of the behavioral health team.
