Physician - Palliative Care - Royal Oak, MI

Full‑time BE/BC Palliative Care Physician (inpatient & emergency department) Responsibilities Split time equally between emergency department consults and inpatient palliative care admissions. Provide symptom management, advance care planning, and end‑of‑life discussions in the ED to reduce unnecessary hospital admissions. Engage with interdisciplinary team (physicians, APPs, social workers, chaplain) to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Facilitate goals‑of‑care discussions, document findings, and dictate patient records. Advocate for patients, ensuring culturally sensitive care and preservation of patient autonomy. Maintain compliance with Michigan Public Health Code, institutional standards, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Palliative Care. Valid unrestricted medical license and DEA registration in Michigan. Interest in teaching and supervising medical students, residents, and fellows.
