Marketing & Communications Intern Hand to Hold is a national nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing early intervention mental health support before, during, and after a NICU stay, ensuring that all NICU families thrive. Position Overview Hand to Hold is seeking a motivated, creative, and collaborative Marketing & Communications Intern to support our marketing team and gain hands‑on experience in nonprofit communications, storytelling, digital marketing, and community engagement. This internship is ideal for a college student interested in marketing, communications, public relations, media, nonprofit leadership, content creation, or event marketing. The intern will work closely with the Marketing Manager and collaborate with members of the development and programs teams on a variety of meaningful projects. Key Responsibilities Assist with social media content creation, scheduling, and engagement Support development of marketing campaigns and awareness initiatives Help draft content for blogs, newsletters, email campaigns, and website updates Assist with story collection efforts featuring NICU families, volunteers, donors, and community partners Support podcast, video, and multimedia content production as needed Assist with event marketing for fundraising events, conferences, and community programs Conduct research on industry trends, nonprofit communications, and audience engagement Help organize marketing assets, photos, videos, and content calendars Attend occasional meetings, events, recordings, or community activities as available Learning Opportunities Interns Will Gain Exposure To Nonprofit marketing and communications Social media strategy and analytics Brand storytelling Email marketing Public relations and community engagement Fundraising and donor communications Event marketing and promotion Website and content management Qualifications Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, Media Studies, or a related field Strong written and verbal communication skills Creative thinker with attention to detail Comfortable working independently and collaboratively Strong organizational and time‑management skills Interest in nonprofit work, healthcare, maternal mental health, family support, or storytelling is a plus Familiarity with Canva, social media platforms, or content creation tools is helpful but not required What We're Looking For Curious and eager to learn Creative and willing to contribute ideas Compassionate and mission‑driven Professional and dependable Enthusiastic about helping families and making a meaningful impact Requirements Internship Details Flexible schedule Approximately 10-15 hours per week Hybrid opportunity with occasional in‑person meetings or events in the Austin area Unpaid internship with eligibility for course credit Supervised by the Marketing Manager/Executive Director Semester and summer opportunities available At Hand to Hold, interns are treated as valued members of the team and given opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects that directly impact NICU families across the country. #J-18808-Ljbffr Hand To Hold
