Maryland Judiciary Benefits (mdcourts.gov) About the Maryland Court System | Maryland Courts (mdcourts.gov) Maryland Judiciary Salary Scales 2026 Main Purpose Of The Job The Problem-Solving Courts (PSC) Program Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and monitoring program participants? involvement in and completion of ancillary service components of the Mental Health court program. The oversight includes, but is not limited to, acquisition of and facilitating access to the following resources: health, legal, family services, behavioral services, and non-clinical services as needed by the participants. This position does not provide the service(s), but facilitates access to and monitors progress of behavior, attendance, compliance, skills learned, and implementation thereof. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for managing a case load of 50 clients. The incumbent will oversee Case Management Services, maintain budget, grants, and financial reports, and manage the collection of data for program reports and evaluation. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Manage Case Management Services (meetings, coordinating service providers, managing referrals, etc.). Oversee Case Manager with a case load of 50 clients, to include but not limited to: develop case plans for each client; monitor progress, enter case notes, report to court, etc. Responsible for daily operation of MH court, grants, financial reports, and data collection. Facilitate access to services for clients and monitor participant progress. Establish new contacts and develop community partnerships. Evaluate new resources for clients. Assess program and participant needs. Plan, develop, and evaluate the components of MH court, while acting as management liaison between other agencies and program participants, etc. Minimum Experience Required Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: Five (5) years of experience in the field of healthcare, criminal justice, counseling, corrections, or law enforcement and three (3) years of managerial/supervisory experience. Note: This position will not act in a clinical capacity and supervision hours will not be offered if applicant requires clinical licensing hours. Licenses and Certificates are not a requirement for employment. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Knowledge of: Knowledge and experience in the field of clinical and/or criminal justice case management. Knowledge of the general provisions affiliated with health services. Knowledge of program administration and principles of management. Knowledge of accounting principles related to budgeting and management of program funds. Skill In: Skill in active listening, empathy, problem solving, and communication. Skill in customer service and handling problems tactfully and patiently. Ability To: Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, facilitate meetings, and give presentations. Ability to locate and secure outside organizations for funding and to compose grant proposals. Ability to create and maintain critical relationships with organizations and work to improve and enhance the PSC program participant outcomes. Ability to maintain standard ethical standards and integrity among staff and program participants. Ability to treat participants with respect and dignity and manage conflict. Ability to make professional choices related to all participant activities without compromising the participant and their families, the court, the case, and the PSC team partners. Ability to assimilate within the court process, adhere to established protocols, manage deadlines, provide a high level of customer service, and disseminate information accurately and appropriately to program participants and the public. Ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality, judgment, tact, diplomacy, and competence in dealing with Judges, attorney's, court personnel, service providers, the public and program participants. Ability to take directives and work independently. Ability to create and sustain community partners to promote the program and its purpose in the community and for the court. Ability to enter data into assigned management information systems. Ability to multi-task and manage a flow in program activity and change. Ability to think critically about the population and utilize program data and research to address service trends as well as participant and program needs appropriately. Ability to complete legal and field research and maintain an updated understanding of the field of Problem-Solving Courts, behavior, and criminal justice best practices. Ability to develop partnerships with knowledge of clinical and criminal justice services. Ability to communicate effectively to facilitate meetings and presentations. Ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality, judgment, tact, diplomacy, and competence in dealing with judges, attorneys, court personnel, service providers, and the public. Software & Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite to complete everyday tasks. Excel is required to complete statistical reports and helpful for fiscal tracking. PowerPoint to complete presentation(s) upon request. Outlook for Court and program communication with public and private sector. AIMS to learn and complete PSC statistical reports on quarterly and annual basis. Internet to navigate various web browsers to conduct research and business needs. Office copy machine, fax machine, scanner, etc. External Grant Programs; as assigned.
