Description

• Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using standardized assessments and keen observational skills.
• Create tailored treatment plans focusing on individual short-term goals while addressing broader communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
• Deliver one-on-one speech therapy that emphasizes communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing strategies.
• Collaborate effectively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to develop holistic care strategies.
• Educate patients and families to bolster progress outside of clinical settings.
• Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring smooth care transitions throughout every stage of treatment.
• Keep meticulous documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Engage in continuous education and peer discussions to stay abreast of advancements in the field.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA certified.

Certifications

• Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting the role.
