Physical Therapist

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES RELATING TO STUDENTS AND STUDENT SERVICES Prepare for student assessment of performance in the educational setting, including knowledge of the role of school-based physical therapy services and relevant federal and state laws/regulations Perform and interpret tests and procedures, which aid in the evaluation of the student’s educational needs Plan and administer physical therapy interventions, which will achieve goals of the program established for each student. Provide services through both direct and consultative service delivery models. Evaluate, document, and report student progress in accordance with the Individualized Education Plan and EIASE policies. Submit records and reports as required Maintain control of student behavior during interactions with individual students and groups of students Develop and manage itinerant work schedule Responsible for transportation to and from designated educational work sites as determined by the Master Physical Therapist or other assigned administrator Perform physical movements, such as bending and kneeling, when necessary to deliver therapy services to students Be physically capable of assisting students to safety in case of emergencies Select, acquire, and use materials as necessary to implement therapy goals and objectives PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES RELATING TO DISTRICTS, PARENTS AND THE COMMUNITY Attend and report to team members at IEP conferences as required Develop and maintain working relationships with parents, medical professionals, and other community sources in order to facilitate effective therapy services Participate in special projects as required to facilitate effective therapy services PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES RELATING TO COLLEAGUES AND GENERAL ADMINISTRATION Collaborate with other members of the rehabilitation staff and other educational staff, individually and in conference, to exchange, discuss, and evaluate students’ information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs Provide suggestions and instructions to parents, teachers, and others concerned with the student in activities that will support therapy services Provide clinical supervision and guide performance of any physical therapy assistants assigned to provide services under the physical therapist’s supervision Follow all EIASE policies, administrative regulations and directives issued by the immediate supervisor, Executive Director, and Administrative Committee/Executive Board of EIASE PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES RELATING TO PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH Participate in continuing education of self and in in‑service education of staff and supportive personnel Provide in‑service education to staff in support of personnel Participate in departmental planning and budgeting regarding physical therapy services as requested Perform additional duties as required by administration PERFORM ALL OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS REQUIRED OR ASSIGNED BY EIASE ADMINISTRATION Perform all other related duties as required or assigned by EIASE administration #J-18808-Ljbffr
