This full-time role focuses on providing comprehensive dental care to patients with infectious diseases, including individuals living with HIV. The ideal candidate is clinically proficient, patient-centered, and committed to delivering high-quality care in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.Key ResponsibilitiesExamine, diagnose, and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gumsProvide comprehensive dental care, including:Routine cleanings and preventive servicesExtractions, root canals, and fillingsBite corrections and treatment of overcrowdingSurgical and non-surgical dental proceduresDevelop and implement individualized oral health treatment plansEducate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategiesPrescribe medications for dental conditions, including pain management and antibioticsOrder and interpret diagnostic tools such as X-rays and dental modelsUtilize dental instruments (drills, probes, mirrors, brushes) to diagnose and treat oral conditionsMaintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans and prescriptionsCollaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to coordinate comprehensive patient careDirect and support dental assistants to ensure efficient, high-quality patient servicesQualificationsEducation & ExperienceDoctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental schoolLicenses & CertificationsCurrent, valid license to practice dentistry in the state of practice (in good standing) or eligibility for licensureAbility to obtain and maintain active privileges through the Medical Staff OfficePreferred AttributesExperience or interest in treating patients with infectious diseases, including HIVStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approachAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical teamCommitment to providing inclusive, compassionate, and culturally competent careWhy Join University Medical Center?Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an underserved patient populationCollaborative, mission-driven healthcare environmentAccess to advanced clinical resources and interdisciplinary supportCompetitive compensation and comprehensive benefits packageWORK SHIFT: Days (United States of America)LCMC Health is a community.
