Children’s Ministry Nursery Teacher – PT Children’s Ministry Nursery Teacher (Part-Time) – Kids Life Kids Life | Non-Exempt Care for the Youngest Hearts in Kids Life If you feel called to care for the youngest hearts during their earliest moments, this role is for you. As Kids Life continues to grow, Lakewood Church is expanding our ministry to include midweek Wednesday services, creating more opportunities to support families and nurture infants and toddlers in a loving, safe, and faith-filled environment. We are seeking gentle, attentive, and Christ-centered individuals who are passionate about caring for children from newborn through two years old and partnering with parents during these foundational years. As a Nursery Teacher, you’ll help create a secure, welcoming, and prayerful first church experience for our youngest children while supporting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Compensation

• 14 per hour base pay
• 20 per hour Sunday premium rate

Work Schedule Part-time, 12 to 20 hours per pay period Sunday 7:30 a.m.- 2 p.m. and Wednesday 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Additional hours may be available for special events as needed Work Schedule Part-time schedule, typically 12 to 20 hours per pay period Regular workdays include Sundays and Wednesdays Additional hours may be available for special events as needed Dependable attendance and availability during assigned ministry times are important to the success of this role What You’ll Do Working directly with the Nursery Manager, you’ll help create a safe, loving, and engaging ministry environment for infants and toddlers while supporting parents, volunteers, and the Kids Life team. Care & Minister to Young Children Minister to children through teaching, guiding, comforting, and caring for them Care for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children Engage children at their individual developmental stages Teach assigned curriculum with enthusiasm Help ensure quality ministry takes place in the assigned classroom or role Primarily serve children from newborn through two years old while remaining flexible to assist with children of other ages or in different ministry roles as needed Create a Safe & Positive Nursery Experience Follow established Child Safety and Emergency protocols in accordance with Lakewood Church policies and applicable requirements Help children transition successfully into and out of the nursery environment Respond appropriately and positively to challenging behaviors and changing classroom needs Help ensure children, parents, Kids Life staff, and volunteers have a positive experience Maintain professionalism, discretion, and a Christ-like attitude when handling sensitive or confidential information Model a Christ-like attitude in interactions with children, parents, volunteers, staff, and leaders Serve as Part of the Kids Life Team Work cooperatively with Kids Life staff, volunteers, coordinators, and ministry leaders Look for opportunities to assist with classroom transitions, additional duties, and team needs Encourage and inspire volunteer commitment in others Maintain a cooperative and respectful attitude Remain gracious, kind, and loving even in high-pressure situations Be open to correction and responsive to volunteer and staff leadership Maintain flexibility when classroom assignment changes are needed Be Prepared & Dependable Arrive in assigned areas on time, prepared, and ready to serve Maintain a high level of dependability and reliability for assigned work schedules Communicate schedule changes promptly with the Nursery Manager, Coordinator, Team Lead, and other appropriate staff Complete assigned paperwork and classroom clean-up Attend Kids Life team meetings, staff meetings, and area trainings Maintain availability for regular ministry days, including Sundays and Wednesdays, and for special events as needed Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications Successful candidates will demonstrate: An uncompromised commitment to Lakewood Church’s vision, values, and core beliefs A passion for serving and ministering to children, families, volunteers, and staff The ability to relate positively to children of different ages, parents, volunteers, staff, and leaders Excellent teamwork, leadership, and interpersonal skills An understanding of and commitment to following child safety policies and processes A cooperative and respectful approach to working with others The ability to remain gracious, kind, and loving under pressure Openness to correction and responsiveness to ministry leadership A commitment to excellence in assigned responsibilities Professional appearance and conduct The ability to regularly lift up to 20 pounds The ability to stand and remain mobile for extended periods of time Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED required Minimum six months of volunteer, daycare, or teaching experience One year of volunteer, daycare, or teaching experience preferred Our Mission As a member of the Lakewood Church team, you play an important role in helping fulfill our mission of bringing hope through Jesus Christ to people around the world.
