Medical Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical settings, including inpatient clinics and hospital medicine. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient care, and administrative support. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care while assisting healthcare providers with clinical and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient intake, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
- Assist with medication administration and ensure proper handling of medications.
- Support healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records using EHR systems.
- Conduct basic life support as needed and respond to emergencies.
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions and concerns.
- Assist in coding diagnoses using ICD coding for billing purposes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings such as inpatient care.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a medical setting (clinic experience preferred).
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with internal medicine is a plus.
- Basic life support certification is required; advanced certifications are advantageous.
- Experience with EHR systems for efficient patient management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in both clinical and administrative tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
- Understanding of patient care protocols in inpatient settings.
