About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required in a step-down or intermediate care setting. License: Virginia nursing license (pending licenses accepted). Certifications: BLS and ACLS required. Must-Have: Epic experience Ability to float within scope of practice No block scheduling Every other weekend and holiday availability Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in step-down care. The work schedule is four 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The nurse will care for a patient ratio of 3 to 1. Every other weekend and holiday work is mandatory. Time off requests for up to 40 hours can be accommodated. Candidates must adhere to floating policies as needed. The role requires management and care of patients recovering from surgical or trauma-related diagnoses. Experience in cardiac telemetry and management of various medical devices is preferred. Candidates should be proficient in basic nursing skills, including IV management and patient monitoring. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including therapy and social services, is key to providing comprehensive patient care.
