About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join a growing public accounting firm in Eatontown, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of public accounting experience , strong QuickBooks Online skills, and the ability to independently manage multiple client relationships and priorities.

This role offers hands-on client exposure, mentorship from experienced accounting professionals, and long-term career growth within a collaborative firm where team members are encouraged to contribute ideas and take ownership of their work.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting needs for a portfolio of small business clients.
\n
• Work directly with clients and business owners to address accounting questions and provide ongoing support.
\n
• Perform bookkeeping and general ledger activities, including bank reconciliations.
\n
• Prepare quarterly and year-end journal entries and adjustments as needed.
\n
• Review financial records for accuracy and help resolve discrepancies.
\n
• Maintain accurate and organized client accounting records using QuickBooks Online.
\n
• Manage multiple client relationships, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
\n
• Collaborate with other accounting professionals to support client engagements and year-end requirements.
\n
• Assist with tax-related accounting matters as needed.
\n

Qualifications

\n
• 3+ years of public accounting experience required.
\n
• Experience working directly with small business clients .
\n
• Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online .
\n
• Hands-on experience with bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
\n
• Ability to effectively manage multiple clients and competing deadlines.
\n
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
\n
• Knowledge of tax preparation and/or Lacerte is helpful but not required .
\n

This is a full-time, in-person opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working directly with small business owners and managing a variety of client accounting needs.
