About This Role

Colonial Rubber is seeking a National Sales Representative to step into a planned succession role alongside our long-tenured senior sales representative. This is a rare opportunity: you’ll spend your few months learning our products, customers, and processes directly from an experienced rep before taking full ownership of the territory.

The ideal candidate is curious, organized, and comfortable working between customers, engineering, and manufacturing. You don’t need to be a rubber expert on day one — you need to be a fast learner with strong people skills and a hunger to grow sales.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

• Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing manufacturing customers

• Identify new applications and programs that align with Colonial’s capabilities

• Engage with customer buyers and sourcing teams to generate and support quotations

• Manage and track sales opportunities, active quotes, and program pipelines

Technical & Program Execution

• Work directly with customer engineers and purchasing to support material selection and part development

• Coordinate prototype development and testing internally and with customers

• Lead new program launches in collaboration with manufacturing, materials, and quality teams

• Serve as the primary commercial and technical point of contact throughout the program lifecycle

Internal Collaboration

• Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Materials, and Quality to understand capabilities and constraints

• Communicate customer requirements clearly and accurately to internal teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• 3+ years of experience in a sales position selling manufacturing parts with existing relationships.

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, drawings, and specifications

• Highly organized with strong time management and follow-through

• Comfortable operating independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

• Willingness to travel up to 50% for customer visits and trade shows

• 2+ years of manufacturing, industrial, or technical sales experience preferred
