You will need to live near our Lockheed Martin Space facility and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.What does this role look like?We want you to support the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program on the D5LE Avionics Development Team. You will lead the re-design, production, and deployment of heritage D5 Avionics packages to support the sustainment of the D5LE missile. This effort includes designing electrical components and packages from early prototype builds to development units, developing testing methodology for proof of design, bringing these designs through various technical reviews, and into full rate production. This role will work closely with the D5LE Tactical Avionics Subsystem CPE, D5LE Chief Engineer, and Navy technical partner.Note: US citizenship and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance is required.Key activities you will accomplish in this role:Own the development of re-designing heritage Avionics packagesCoordinate across multiple supporting engineering organizationsOwn the data products for Technical Interchange Meetings and program design reviewsApproach overly constrained technical issues with a creative, risk aware mindsetExecute in a fast-paced environmentEffectively communicate to various levels of leadership, inclusive of Navy counterparts, both technical and non-technical To be effective in this role, you will need:• 8+ years professional experience.• Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance, thus you are a US Citizen.Basic QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited universityPrior professional experience with electrical hardware design or a closely related discipline.Deep expertise across multiple electrical engineering domains, that could include:Electrical hardware design for development and production phases in aerospace or a similar industryComplex electrical schematics for circuit card assemblies (CCA), harnesses, and system-level interconnectsRoot-cause analysis and corrective action for hardware failuresMust be a US Citizen; must be able to obtain/maintain a DoD Top Secret clearanceDesired SkillsDemonstrated experience leading the development of a product or capability from concept through development, qualification, and transition to productionExcellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to brief executive leadership, customers, and non-technical audiencesDemonstrated ability to lead IPT efforts across multiple concurrent programs, present to program leadership and government customers, and manage multiple prioritiesActive DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearanceExperience leading IRAD/CRAD programsMaster’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related STEM fieldCross-Business Area engagement and large-program technical-lead experienceExperience transitioning PCB/PWB designs into circuit card assembliesExperience supporting proposal development, including technical volume authoring, basis-of-estimate, and competitive technical strategy on major hardware capturesExceptional communication skills — ability to professionally communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy to executive audiencesExperience with missile systems or hypersonic weapon systems across a program portfolioProject management skillsets including leadership, planning/organization, risk management, and financial acumen at the program levelSuccessful proposal/capture leadership experience (BOE, technical volume authoring, technical strategy) on major hardware programsDemonstrated ability to lead technical investigations to determine root cause of hardware failuresDemonstrated effectiveness as a “player/coach” working with minimal supervision in fast-paced, multi-program environmentsStrong mentoring track record with early and mid-career engineersExperience with supplier managementApplication of lessons learned and process improvement methodologiesPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $145100.00 - $269500.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
