Technical Sales Representative

SUMMARY:

The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying and closing new business opportunities in academic, clinical research, and bio-pharma labs, with a focus on technical expertise in flow cytometry. Achieve the financial objectives of the assigned territory, by effectively identifying and supporting scientists in making beneficial/optimal decisions when purchasing flow cytometry equipment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Responsible for technical sales, pre & post-sales support, marketing and technical feedback, and customer satisfaction relative to sales activities
• Understand and address the technical and application needs of customers and match those needs with the sales of appropriate equipment
• Coordinate and conduct in lab demonstrations, perform post-sale follow up visits to ensure customer satisfaction, and work as a liaison between Field Service, and R&D to address customer equipment performance needs
• Manage administrative duties as assigned: monitoring expenses to budget, timely administrative activity reporting, provide internal feedback regarding competitive products, adhering to OHSA and Universal Lab precautions
• Generate and follow-up on leads by participating in state, regional, and national meetings as directed by Sales Management. Activities include pre-meeting display setup if necessary; meeting support, post meeting display disassembly as needed.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:


The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• BA/BS in Life Sciences, Biological areas, Engineering, Business, or closely related discipline
• At least 3 years flow cytometry experience. Previous Capital Equipment Sales Experience preferred.
• Must be self-motivated to succeed and have a mastery of the complex sales process. Computer proficiency is required, including skills with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to travel 50-75 % travel.
